President Donald Trump’s top allies seem angry about the fact that electoral processes proceed whether or not they are onboard. Thankfully, however, the U.S. electoral system does not grind to a halt every time that a bad faith liar like Rudy Giuliani or Jenna Ellis stands up and pushes nonsense. Giuliani and Ellis lead Trump’s legal team, which so far hasn’t exactly produced resounding court victories — to say the least. On Monday, the two of them appeared alongside one another at a farcical Arizona “hearing” about election integrity. During this hearing, Arizona state authorities certified the state’s presidential election results, and Ellis promptly complained on Twitter.
She angrily ranted as follows:

Arizona authorities didn’t “rush” the process. Results have been carefully processed and double-checked. Election Day itself was weeks ago. The electoral college is scheduled to meet and officially finalize President-elect Biden’s victory in mid-December, just weeks down the road. Now is the time to move forward — Ellis can’t legitimately claim some kind of conspiracy against her supposedly legitimate claims when weeks have passed with no meaningfully conclusive supporting evidence for the Trump team’s claims.
At the Arizona hearing, Giuliani suggested that authorities who sign onto supposedly false certifications of presidential election results could be committing a crime via supposedly certifying a false statement. Clearly, Arizona authorities weren’t particularly impressed with the Trump team’s arguments. Arizona’s governor, Doug Ducey, isn’t some kind of anti-Trump partisan — he’s a Republican! Other authorities who Trump and his allies have complained about, including Georgia’s governor and Secretary of State, are also Republicans. The evidence for Trump’s fraud allegations just isn’t there. At the Arizona hearing, Giuliani also reiterated his ludicrous claim that a centrally-planned Democratic conspiracy to perpetrate fraud unfolded during the recent election. Supporting evidence does not exist. Their desperately convoluted, ramshackle arguments feature hunches, misrepresentations, and outright lies in place of meaningfully conclusive evidence.
Ellis angrily added the following message on Twitter:
‘The certification of Arizona’s FALSE results is unethical and knowingly participating in the corruption that has disenfranchised AZ voters. BUT, this in no way impacts the state legislature’s ability to take back the proper selection of delegates.’

Previously, she’d added the following laughably self-important message:
