The president boarded Marine One to do a flyover in support of the Proud-Boy organized rally. The protesters gathered in front of the Supreme Court and at Freedom Plaza protesting Trump’s election results. Anti-protesters joined the pro-Trump rally.
Four people were stabbed during the rally, according to the Washington DC Metro Police Department’s public affairs office. The Washington Fire Department and EMS came to the assist of eight protesters, including those with knife wounds. The individuals with knife wounds were in critical condition, CNN reported.
According to DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office, two police officers received non-life-threatening injuries, and two people received minor injuries. A total of at least 23 people were arrested during the rally.
The Proud Boys gathered in front of the Supreme Court and at Freedom Plaza protesting Trump’s election results. Most of the protesters were maskless.
Police arrested six people for assault, 10 for simple assault, and four for riotous acts. Then, there were also “two arrested for crossing a police line, and one for possession of a prohibited weapon — a Taser.”
Videos posted on social media showed little fights breaking out periodically. All in all, the protests were predominately peaceful.
