Democrat Wendy Davis, who currently serves as a city commissioner in Rome, Georgia, has revealed that a campaign that she launched just recently in hopes of unseating Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has brought in nearly $120,000 in about a month. Greene has faced consistent criticism over her public antics, and she’s often seemed far more focused on those antics than on representing the actual interests of her district. While in office, Greene has used consistently outlandish rhetoric on an array of issues — and she has also stuck closely by former President Donald Trump and his bonkers lies about the integrity of last year’s presidential election.
Meanwhile, alongside the announcement of her campaign’s fundraising haul, Davis said as follows:
‘Since announcing this campaign, I’ve been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received from fellow Georgians who know we deserve a representative who’s in it for us. They’re tired of the grandstanding, and they’re ready for a Representative who will get things done.’
Davis also commented as follows:
‘We don’t need a social media celebrity or a cable news spectacle representing us in Washington. We don’t need a representative who plays games. We need somebody who will wake up every day to do the work, who’s never more than a phone call away, and who never forgets whose team she’s on.’

Meanwhile, Greene is continuing to peddle her ignorance. After Biden referenced having individuals heading door-to-door to provide information about vaccines against COVID-19, Greene ranted on Twitter that Americans “don’t need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations.” No one who could show up at any one’s door in line with Biden’s remarks has or will have any power to “order vaccinations,” and comparing advocacy by the federal government on behalf of vaccinations to the violence perpetrated by the Nazi-era thugs known as “brown shirts” is just ridiculous. Greene is consistently out-of-touch with basic facts. Why should observers be expected to take her seriously if she won’t even bother conducting basic fact-checks of her own claims before pushing the nonsense to the world?
