The problem with a violent insurrection when rioters are excitedly posting every moment on social media and bragging about their participation in the full view of the public is that people are going to get caught. That’s what one rioter, Andrew Quentin Taake, found out on Saturday when he was arrested on the basis of photos, videos, and boastful tales told to a Bumble match, who turned him in to the FBI.

Photos and videos of Taake show him spraying Capitol Police officers with pepper spray as rioters overran the Capitol Building in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying the election of President Joe Biden. Convinced by the Big Lie, the one ex-president Donald Trump told about a stolen election, Taake committed acts of violence. Now, he’ll face consequences thanks to a woman on Bumble.
According to local CBS affiliate KHOU 11 in Houston:
‘Taake made his initial court appearance in the Southern District of Texas Friday. According to court documents, Taake was on Capitol grounds on Jan. 6. At around 1:16 p.m., he can be seen on Metropolitan Police Department body-worn camera video approaching and pepper spraying police officers who were trying to prevent rioters from entering the building.’

According to an affidavit, Taake faces five charges, some of them felonies, including obstruction of an official proceeding; felony assault, resisting, or impeding certain officer and felony; assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers; obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder; entering or remaining, disorderly and disruptive conduct, and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; and disorderly conduct in a Capitol Building, impeding passage through and act of physical violence in the capitol grounds or buildings, parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol Building.

The affidavit also describes the conversation between Taake and the woman on Bumble, who turned over screenshots of their conversations and a photo she was sent. Taake bragged that he was in the Capitol building for around 30 minutes and then bragged to the woman about some of the worst of his crimes.
‘On or about January 9, 2021, the FBI received a tip from an individual (“Witness 1”) who provided information on a Capitol rioter by the name of Andrew Taake, owner of Hi-Flow Houston. Witness 1 messaged Taake on a dating app, Bumble, while he was in Washington, D.C. Although Taake and Witness 1 never met in person, Taake discussed his participation in the riot with Witness 1 and sent Witness 1 several pictures of himself, including a picture of himself taken on January 6, 2021, after he was allegedly pepper sprayed by law enforcement officers. Witness 1 said Taake admitted to being inside the U.S. Capitol for approximately 30 minutes. Below is a screenshot of messages between Taake and Witness 1, including the picture of Taake taken “about 30 minutes after being sprayed.”’
