Donald Trump had a weekend-long tantrum down at Mar-a-Lago when some very sharp-edged Fox News ads sent him into a rabid tailspin.
After Trump took office, many sane Republicans fled the party and decided to work with one objective, to take down the former president. And keep him down. These individuals formed The Lincoln Project and manufactured a whole host of brilliant ads aimed at getting under the ex’s thin skin. Co-founder Rick Wilson said it runs about an ad a week aimed directly at the Mar-a-Lago cable news, The Newsweek Magazine reported.
Trump said in a statement, The Huffington Post wrote:
”What good is it if FOX News speaks well of me when they continually allow horrible and untruthful anti-Trump commercials to be run — and plenty of them. In the good old days, that would never have happened and today it happens all of the time.’
Co-founder of The Lincoln Project Rick Wilson told The Mediaite the ads had an “audience of one:”
‘We’re always running ads on Fox News in Bedminster [New Jersey] and Mar-a-Lago area cable.’
The ad called Trump a “coward” and more:
‘Donald why are you so scared to go to Virginia?. Is it because you know Glenn Youngkin wants nothing to do with you? Or is it because your loser stench rubs off on everyone you touch? If you aren’t too weak or scared or washed up, you would get to Virginia fast.’
The MeidasTouch PAC, which supported The Lincoln Project, was formed in March 2020 by three life-long Democratic brothers. It tweeted Sunday night, “We just broke Trump” according to The Huffington Post:
‘We didn’t think we could break him any more than we already had. But we did. After we put our ad on the air at Mar-A-Lago that is humiliating him for not coming to Virginia. He wants to come so badly.’
MeidasTouch said the ad was aired on Fox News:
