On the first day of 2022, most of America was just braced for what’s to come after two years of COVID-19. Barack and Michelle Obama, meanwhile, reminded the country that to laugh a little while we make our way toward the next chapter in U.S. history.
Happy New Year from me and my boo! 🎉🥳 Wishing you all a year filled with happiness, love, and good health. pic.twitter.com/FRR0DDZjw9

Under Joe Biden, the economy is on a historic upswing. Vaccines and booster shots are available all over the country to those who need them. The supply chain crisis appears to have been corrected, wages are up, and new treatments for COVID-19 are being developed. On this day, it’s nice to be reminded that there’s plenty to smile about.
Earlier in the day, President Obama tweeted:
‘I’m hopeful about 2022. This year will undoubtedly have its challenges, just like 2021 did. But we’ve made it this far—and I still believe we can build a brighter future together. Happy New Year!’
The Obamas, like most Americans, dressed in their best, threw on some New Year’s bling, and reminded us all why they’re America’s favorite couple.
Twitter loved the light-hearted tweet by Mrs. Obama and showed their appreciation for the sweet photo and sentiments. Read some of their comments below:
