There are some aspects of the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection that everyone who has seen footage of the attempted coup already know. For example, everyone knows (whether or not they’ll admit it) that police were beaten, injured, and even mortally wounded. Everyone knows that the thousands of attackers who descended on the Capitol Building that day were supporters of the now twice-impeached ex-president who lost the popular vote twice, Donald Trump. And everyone knows that the purpose of the attack was to thwart and overturn a democratically decided election.

Scheduled hearings led by the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, however, are sure to include new revelations. Committee member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) promised new information that will damn those involved with the well-coordinated, funded, and conspiratorial lead-up to the attack as well as the attack itself.
According to The Hill, Schiff said that:
‘Our goal is to present the narrative of what happened in this country, how close we came to losing our democracy, what led to the violence. Americans I think know a great deal already — they have seen a number of bombshells already [and] there’s a great deal they haven’t seen. But perhaps the most important is the public has not seen it woven together, how one thing led to another.’
The first hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 9, at 8 PM EST. Subsequent hearings will be aired on both prime time and in the daytime throughout the month of June.
