Trump sounds angry.
On his floundering alternative social media platform Truth Social, he complained late Friday about a government spending bill approved in the Senate, which will keep the government operating (and includes additional aid for Ukraine). In his comments, Trump asserted Mitch McConnell has a “DEATH WISH,” as though implicitly providing an excuse for violence against him by Trump supporters. Sure, Trump could argue he was speaking metaphorically, but those aren’t terms generally used in political conversation centering on metaphors.
“Is McConnell approving all of these Trillions of Dollars worth of Democrat sponsored Bills, without even the slightest bit of negotiation, because he hates Donald J. Trump, and he knows I am strongly opposed to them, or is he doing it because he believes in the Fake and Highly Destructive Green New Deal, and is willing to take the Country down with him?” Trump said. “In any event, either reason is unacceptable. He has a DEATH WISH. Must immediately seek help and advise from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!” Elaine Chao, who is from Taiwan, was appointed by Trump himself to a Cabinet position in his presidential administration, where she served throughout his four years in office, resigning after the riot. That’s who he is referencing with the startling and racist epithet, “Coco Chow.” It also remains worth noting the “Green New Deal” has not been enacted. Folks on the Right just use that terminology for disliked policies.
Trump also expressed anger about a new book from Maggie Haberman of The New York Times, as he has done with other books purportedly offering a wide-ranging, behind-the-scenes look at various aspects of Trump’s political operation or personal life. Trump referred to the journalist and author as “Maggot Hagerman.” Revelations her book covers include Trump allegedly contemplating firing his daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner from their White House roles — and the then-president considering bombing Mexico (specifically drug facilities).
“Maggot Hagerman of the Unfunded Liability plagued New York Times is my self appointed Biographer, even though she got the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax & the Mueller Report conclusion completely wrong, & refused to write about the FACT that the Democrats spied on my campaign, Lied to Congress, & Cheated and Lied to the FISA Court,” Trump said. “Maggot was also duped on Impeachment Hoax #1 & Impeachment Hoax #2, & said in 2016 that,“Trump will NOT run for President.” She is a bad writer with very bad sources!” One of her sources for the new book is Trump himself, to whom she spoke three times for it.
More than three hours after his rant about McConnell, Trump was also posting about the investigation into his handling of classified documents. Justice Department investigators scored a major win with a ruling from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals allowing them the investigative usage of documents marked classified that were seized from Mar-a-Lago in August. “The Document Hoax Lawsuit, which is the “Weaponization” of the Justice Department and the FBI, is yet another Scam against me, much like Russia, Russia, Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the Mueller Report (No Collusion!), Spying on my Campaign (and getting caught!), Lying to the FISA Court, Lying to Congress, Illegally Breaking into my home in Florida in violation of the Fourth Amendment, also violating the Presidential Records Act, and so much more,” Trump insisted. His whole shtick is complaining.
