Donald Trump isn’t thrilled about Rupert Murdoch of Fox having pushed back under oath with Dominion Voting Systems on the idea there was widespread fraud in the last presidential election — an idea, of course, that fueled so much of what Trump and close allies of his got nearly immediately to doing after that race concluded.
“How does Rupert Murdoch say there was no election fraud when 2000 Mules shows, on government tape, that there were millions of “stuffed ballots,” & Elon Musk released the FBI/Twitter Files, where pollsters say that the silencing of information made a 17% difference in the Vote,” Trump said. “Then there was, of course, FBI/Facebook, another big election integrity fraud costing millions of Votes-& this doesn’t even count all of the many other ways they cheated, or the fact that they avoided State Legislatures?” Trump made these comments in a post on his personal account on his knock-off social media site Truth Social that went up just before 2:30 a.m. Eastern on Monday.
“2000 Mules” is a propaganda film that purports to connect evidence of people passing by the same ballot boxes multiple times to claims these people were putting multiple — and fraudulent — votes into local counts, although it’s not that difficult to end up passing the same drop box many times if it’s in a highly used area and you live nearby. Also, the idea that “silencing” specifically the contested reporting from the New York Post about Hunter Biden, which is what Trump was referencing, made that large of a difference in the election results simply defies basic logic. One reason for that is that the information wasn’t even that comprehensively suppressed. Brief bans on, in general, sharing a link on a couple major social media sites didn’t stop conservative outlets and conservative commentators and users on these very sites from still pushing it out.
And getting past that stage of the debate, Hunter Biden wasn’t running for office, and there’s no indication he has an interest in doing so. Maybe Trump should sleep instead of posting more lies and opening himself up to possibilities like these posts being used in civil or criminal cases.
