Joe Biden Mocks Lauren Boebert As A Bill She Opposed Helps Her District In Colorado

Democrats prevailed in the last Congress to secure the approval and enactment of a sweeping legislative package known as the Inflation Reduction Act, which included a wide range of economic measures meant to spur development and lower Americans’ financial burdens.

During a speech this week, President Joe Biden spoke of jobs under development from a company called CS Wind, which is expanding its presence in the Colorado Congressional district currently represented by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), who is very vocal with her far-right beliefs. Biden was speaking in New Mexico on Wednesday, tying the forthcoming jobs to the Inflation Reduction Act and criticizing the Colorado Republican. “And coincidentally, CS Wind is Congresswoman Lauren Boebert — you know, that very quiet Republican lady?” Biden quipped. “It’s in her district. [Boebert], along with every other Republican, voted against this bill that’s making all this possible. And she railed against its passage. But that’s okay; she’s welcoming it now.”

Boebert currently wants to impeach the president, having falsely alleged in articles of impeachment that she sponsored that operational control at the southern border has gone to foreign criminal organizations. Elsewhere, Republicans have repeatedly faced accusations of taking credit for programs and benefits for which they didn’t actually vote when the matters were under consideration in Congress. And many Republicans have, in fact, stood against some of the key legislative accomplishments from the past several years, including the Chips and Science Act, as it was known.

That bill provided federal support for the production of technological components known as semiconductors in the U.S. The components are used extensively in a wide variety of manufacturing. As the 2024 elections approach, Donald Trump — who many expect will be the torchbearer for the Republican Party in the presidential race — is sticking to a message of doom and gloom. “HE IS A MENTAL CATASTROPHE THAT IS LEADING OUR COUNTRY TO HELL!” Trump said Thursday of the current president. Other examples include his insistence on a federal takeover of Washington, D.C., which he has repeatedly described as “filthy.”
