Mike Lindell, the infamously vocal ally to former President Donald Trump in the latter’s false claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential race, continues to face what he says and reports indicate are serious financial troubles. And speaking with far-right media figure and established Trump ally Steve Bannon, Lindell, who founded the company MyPillow, seemed to indicate he was prepared to stick with his antics even if doing so meant the end of his company.
Bannon asked Lindell whether he was prepared to move forward even if MyPillow faced dissolution. “We don’t have a country if we don’t win this, everybody,” Lindell replied, seemingly agreeing. “So, you know what, my employees — everybody understands that, and they’re counting on you and the War Room posey, and you guys have come through, and all of the products are MyPillow 2.0 — it’s been amazing the last three days, with the pouring out of support.”
Lindell’s financial hits have been numerous, from the ongoing defamation litigation he has faced to the funds he himself has shelled out in support of sputtering legal action that has furthered the false claims made outside the courtroom in Trump’s circles about the U.S. electoral system. And a law firm that’s provided legal representation for Lindell in the three defamation lawsuits with which he was hit recently said the prominent Trump ally and his company were millions of dollars behind on payments to the firm. The defamation lawsuits, like the similar cases filed against other interests with proximity to Trump, focus on impacts from the propagation of baseless conspiracy theories about the 2020 election that named specific people and companies as supposedly involved in (imaginary) fraud.
And in a sign of things seemingly not going great, MyPillow even recently held a company auction, selling off various manufacturing and office equipment, the breadth of which already made you wonder how long the company would last.
