A Florida office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced the apprehension of three individuals facing criminal allegations in connection to the early 2021 Capitol riot who had been evading authorities. The trio included a brother and sister along with an individual who’d worked at a business belonging to the family.

Their names are Jonathan Daniel Pollock, Olivia Michele Pollock, and Joseph Daniel Hutchinson III. Cases against Olivia Pollock and Hutchinson had progressed to the point the two were facing trials that they evaded, while Jonathan Pollock had evidently kept himself from prosecuting authorities since facing charges back in 2021. He never even entered a formal plea, CNN said. After an announcement of their apprehension that emerged Saturday — the anniversary of the Capitol riot, the three were set to quickly make appearances in a federal court in central Florida on Monday of the following week.

Significant criminal charges were at stake. Jonathan Pollock, for instance, was accused of serious, physical assaults against police officers.

A previous press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington, D.C., accused him of having “assaulted three police officers, pulling one down a set of steps, kneeing and punching another in the face, and punching and pushing a third by the neck.” In a separate encounter that day that was alleged by federal authorities, Jonathan also used a stolen, police-originating riot shield against an officer, striking them in the “throat and face” per the same release, which is from 2021. Olivia Pollock was, meanwhile, also accused of violence against police, and Hutchinson was similarly accused of physically engaging with efforts by police at securing the area.

The initial statement from that FBI office announcing the apprehension of these three individuals said they were taken into custody at a ranch in Groveland, which is a city in Florida. The statement didn’t explain how authorities were tipped off to the trio’s whereabouts. Another rioter who evaded authorities’ oversight was sentenced just recently to a full decade in prison. That defendant, Florida man Christoper Worrell, had been convicted at a bench trial — meaning trial proceedings where the judge decides the outcome — of charges including assault on police.
