In a new episode of the evening program on Fox News hosted by Jesse Watters after the abrupt departure of longtime figurehead Tucker Carlson, a guest — Stuart Kaplan, ostensibly a former agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) — suggested that pop star Taylor Swift could be being used in some manner to covertly advance the interests of the federal government.

In other words, the idea is she may have somehow been made a covert agent of the Biden administration, even through means potentially unknown even to her… however that would work.

Footage from the segment circulated extensively online. “She can potentially singlehandedly swing voters because of just the amount of followers that she potentially can influence,” Watters’ guest said. A specific point they discussed was her recent promotion of… registering to vote, an extremely foundational process in domestic politics that’s so common it could hardly be considered indicative of a covert agenda.

“I wonder who got to her from the White House or from wherever. Who makes that initial handshake?” Watters open-endedly posited. Kaplan then discussed, in somewhat vague terms, the idea that there are, in general, people who could fulfill the role… of reaching and/or somehow recruiting Swift.

It doesn’t appear Fox has posted — or at least promoted — the full segment online. Donald Trump, who remains on track for the GOP nomination for president despite his extensive criminal charges, is known for often paying close attention to developments in pop culture. Trump himself has by association maligned Swift just recently, sharing a link on his account on his knock-off social media site Truth Social that said the individual named person of the year by Time (the magazine) should have been the ex-president himself instead of the singer, who’s seen only increasing popularity amid recent album re-releases. Newsweek reported on Trump’s Truth Social sentiments.
