Trump Compares Himself To Jesus Christ As His Desperation Reaches New Heights

On Monday, former President Donald Trump shared a comparison of his own legal troubles to the experiences of Jesus — the Biblical figure beloved by Christians and others around the world.

“Received this morning—Beautiful, thank you!” Trump wrote online, then quoting some kind of fan mail, the source of which he didn’t identify. ““It’s ironic that Christ walked through His greatest persecution the very week they are trying to steal your property from you. But have you seen this verse…?””

Addressed to Trump, the adoring message then gets somehow even more adoring. After a passage from the Biblical text known as Psalms, the missive includes the following: “I’m praying this over you daily. So many praying for you. Thank you again for taking the arrows intended for us. We love you.” All of this appeared as a message that Trump took from whatever its original source and put up, seemingly in full, as an original post on his own account on Truth Social, his social media platform.

The alleged attempt at taking Trump’s property that the message sender took so personally was part of the latest developments in Trump’s massive civil case successfully alleging business fraud that originated with New York state Attorney General Letitia James. Some suspected she’d start pursuing a seizure of Trump assets this week to cover for his nearly half a billion in penalties, with the deadline quickly passing for an initially demanded bond that would have staved off collections during appeals. But an appeals court in New York ultimately gave Trump somewhat of a break, lessening the amount of the required bond to $175 million and giving him ten days.

Trump did partially lose elsewhere in New York on Monday, with a judge putting his criminal trial on allegations of falsifying business records on track for a start date next month.
