With in-person arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court coming up this week amid former President Donald Trump’s claims that he holds wide-ranging legal protections that should block even the possibility of criminal prosecution for actions taken amid his official responsibilities when in the White House, Trump is publicly focused on the subject.

That’s evident via his personal profile on his knock-off social media site Truth Social, where the former president recently turned to posting incessantly about his claims of immunity.

“IF THEY TAKE AWAY MY PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY, THEY TAKE AWAY CROOKED JOE BIDEN’S PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY,” Trump told his followers Saturday.

“My initial reaction is that this is dumb because Joe Biden doesn’t need presidential immunity, he hasn’t committed any crimes. But more properly read, this is a threat. Trump is saying he will come after Biden if he’s elected. He’ll be a dictator in more than just day one,” former federal prosecutor Joyce White Vance said afterwards on X (Twitter).

Trump actually enumerated some of the potential areas in which he and his ilk may target Biden in another post of his.

Trump claimed that, without his own doctrine of so-called presidential immunity in place, then Biden “would certainly be Prosecuted for his many ACTUAL CRIMES, including illegally receiving massive amounts of money from Foreign Countries, including China, Ukraine, and Russia, paying off Ukraine to fire an unfriendly prosecutor, allowing millions of people to illegally Enter and Destroy our Country, SURRENDERING in Afghanistan, with Hundreds Dead, many Americans Left Behind, and handing over Billions of Dollars Worth of the Best Military Equipment anywhere on Earth, the Decimation of American Wealth through the Green New Scam, and so much more.”

There is no apparent evidence that President Joe Biden collected the money that Trump claims, and the “paying off” of Ukraine involved… the provision of U.S. aid that involved other areas of government in the U.S.

Also, there is no evidence of Biden somehow specifically “allowing” an imaginary “invasion” of the United States, a line of argument that suggests specific intent on the current president’s part for something that’s not even really happening. Calling the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan a “surrender” is just factually false, the Biden administration didn’t leave Americans behind en masse as Trump suggests, and the Green New Deal that Trump’s seemingly trying to reference was never implemented.
