For some reason, ex-President Donald Trump was angrily posting to his personal account on Truth Social, the Trump-branded knock-off social media site, past 2 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, hours before additional criminal trial proceedings in New York.
This time, the ex-president-turned-criminal defendant was complaining about Paul Ryan, the former GOP legislative leader who now, while out of elected office, has expressed opposition to Trump.
“Rupert Murdoch should fire pathetic RINO Paul Ryan from the Board of Fox,” Trump told his followers. “Ryan is a loser, always has been, and always will be. He was the WEAKEST & MOST INCOMPETENT Speaker of the House in its History. Fox will sink to the absolute bottom of the pack if Paul Ryan has anything to do with it!”
Trump, who was president when Ryan retired from Congressional service, previously expressed praise for him.

Trump’s trial, which was covering criminal charges of falsifying business records in connection to hush money from before the 2016 elections, was set to continue on Thursday with additional testimony from Stormy Daniels. Daniels is the woman who received that hush money after she allegedly had a sexual encounter with the eventual ex-president in years past. She already spoke before jurors earlier in the week. Complaining about some of the detail that she shared, Trump’s defense team unsuccessfully sought a mistrial, a declaration of which would have abruptly cut off proceedings.
