Michael Cohen has proven to be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare. The president’s former longtime personal attorney and self-described “fixer” dropped several bombs for a direct hit on his boss’ professed innocence. Of course, there was the crime of illegally influencing the presidential election, but this could be even worse for POTUS.
The Commander-in-Chief’s fixer’s own attorney, Lanny Davis, appeared on NBC’s Today Show to take advantage of the breaking news. While Davis was waiting for his segment, he revealed that his client had information that would severely damage the Donald J. Trump Foundation, a family affair.
Not only that, the New York Attorney General (AG) Barbara Underwood has already been investigating corruption in the foundation for such things as paying for a life-size portrait of Trump Sr. Cohen’s information would provide the AG with a wealth of ammunition.
Donald Trump was not the only one affiliated with the foundation. Underwood could take down most of the entire family: Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. The man sitting in the Oval Office has been clear, that he would do anything to protect his family.
Davis went on air and said that Cohen does not want a pardon:
‘He (Cohen) considers a pardon from someone who acted so corruptly as president to be something he would never accept.’
Cohen pled guilty to bank fraud, tax evasion, and another show stopper — campaign finance violations upon the order of his boss, the would-be leader of the free world. In other words, the fixer made POTUS a co-conspirator to throwing the 2016 presidential election in Trump’s favor.
The president’s former attorney also admitted that Cohen had information that would benefit Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s attack on the election and potential Trump campaign conspiracy with the Russians. David said:
‘Not only is he not hoping for it, he would not accept a pardon. He considers a pardon from someone who acted so corruptly as president to be something he would never accept.’
Davis appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, too. While there, he said Trump’s disturbing Helsinki appearance with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, was Cohen’s turning point:
‘At that point, the fixer told his attorney that Trump was “a scary person (who) sometimes acts mentally scary.’
Cohen’s attorney also went on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show. There he said:
‘(Cohen) has knowledge on certain subjects that should be of interest (to Mueller and Cohen) is more than happy to tell the special counsel all that he knows, not just about the obvious possibility of a conspiracy to collude and corrupt the American Democracy system in the 2016 election … but also knowledge about the computer crime of hacking and whether or not Mr. Trump knew ahead of time about that crime and even cheered it on.’
The president’s fixer said that when he pled guilty to campaign finance violations, that involved counts of paying money to two women. This was hush money to keep the president’s sexual liaisons quiet weeks before the 2016 election. The payoffs occurred after Trump’s lewd Access Hollywood tape aired.
