Pentagon Makes Border Troop Announcement That Has Liberals Laughing

It was invisible. Donald Trump whipped his fans at his rallies right before the midterms into a frenzy. The president had them panting in fear against the hordes of the invaders he said were marching toward our country’s southern border. The caravan had Mideastern crazies and machete-wielding gang members tucked inside. The weary mothers walking in flip-flops and carrying infants were, apparently, just a cover.

These mothers were exhausted from the 2,000 mile march away from certain death, not so much toward the U.S. Yet, Trump decided to send the military down to the border to hold off the invaders. He ordered the Pentagon to send thousands and thousands of soldiers to protect innocent U.S. citizens from the invaders. Except, the invaders were invisible.

The Pentagon just announced it would begin a drawdown of all the $12 million per day contingency, possibly beginning this week. The Army commander of this strange mission, where soldiers could not fire their weapons, Army Lt. General Jeffrey Buchanan has been running things out of San Antonio, Texas.

Buchanan leads the ground component of U.S. Northern Command, and he confirmed existing reports indicating that the military refused a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) request. The DHS wanted a group of armed soldiers to assist the Border Patrol should violent confrontations occur, according to Buchanan. Buchanan continued speaking to POLITICO:

‘That is a law enforcement task, and the secretary of defense does not have the authority to approve that inside the homeland.’

Buchanan told POLITICO the troop deployment most likely would start dropping quickly. Logistical and engineering troops would finish “building base camps and fortifying ports of entry for the Border Patrol:”

‘Our end date right now is 15 December, and I’ve got no indications from anybody that we’ll go beyond that.’

The threatening invasion has melted into what it really was. A group of weary strangers seeking refuge. Trump ordered the U.S. customs officers to lock down the Tijuana, Mexico port of entry.

Then, the president quietly sent out the word that all of the active-duty soldiers would probably be home by Christmas. The  invisible invasion was over.
