As President Donald Trump continues to face a formal impeachment inquiry from House Democrats, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton appeared together on The View this week, where they bluntly denounced Trump’s behavior. Echoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) herself, Hillary insisted that a formal impeachment process became essentially unavoidable following revelations about Trump’s efforts to get Ukraine to produce dirt on domestic political opponents, and she added that she views Trump as an “illegitimate president.” Both of them earned repeated rounds of applause from the studio audience.
Asked what she thought of Trump’s continued obsession with points like her ever talked about emails, Hillary shared:
‘I think he knows that he’s an illegitimate president, and because of that, he’s very insecure about it. Look what he’s trying to do now — part of the Ukraine scandal that’s slowly coming to light is he’s trying to figure out how to say no no it wasn’t the Russians even though the intelligence community and everyone who’s looked at this said yeah yeah it was the Russians… he’s obsessed with the fact that he was helped, a lot… He can’t handle it.’

As she went on to note, Trump also has an apparent drive to “dominate,” and these issues culminate in him seeming unable to handle even the slightest challenge.
In the case of the Ukraine scandal Clinton mentions, the Trump team (including in this case prominent members like Rudy Giuliani) has been pushing ideas like that Ukrainians assisted in spreading the supposedly fake news Russia scandal, but there is basically no evidence for this. Trump’s efforts to recruit the Ukrainian government to help him prove some of his other corruption allegations have helped spark the impeachment inquiry.
Meanwhile, after one of the co-hosts brought up a recent post she’d made on Twitter to that effect, Chelsea insisted:
‘I do believe he’s the greatest scam in the history of American politics. I think his whole life has been a scam, and unfortunately, people are suffering every day because his scam has thus far kind of succeeded at the highest level… The depths of the cruelty and the inhumanity towards migrants, towards people of color, towards our LGBTQ community, war heroes, women is not the America that I want my kids… or any of our kids and grandkids to grow up in.’
She added that she’d therefore be working as much as she could to ensure that Trump’s vision of America did not continue.
The Clintons remain decidedly on Trump’s radar — also as part of that Ukraine scandal, Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look for emails that at one point went missing from Hillary Clinton’s infamous private email server. There is, however, not a thing anywhere in reality suggesting any kind of connection whatsoever between Clinton’s emails and the Ukrainians. Trump and his cronies are going on a conspiracy theory-fueled global wild goose chase — and there’s little indication it will be stopping any time soon as the 2020 election gets only closer and Trump keeps feeling the heat.
