People say that Donald Trump is not a role model, but he is. The commander-in-chief, who grew several inches since taking office, is a strong bad role model. The ever-smaller group of his core supporters found a way to express themselves during a pandemic, much like their leader.

CNN reporter Natasha Chen was wearing a mask and covering the news about people heading out to the beaches in droves. Apparently, Trump has managed to communicate to his supporters that only Democrats wear masks, which is not true, of course.

Chen was in the middle of interviewing Tybee Island Mayor Shirley Sessions on one of the island’s beaches Saturday when beachgoers came up and began jeering at her for wearing a mask. Chen said:

‘Somebody saw us and the mayor and I were both wearing masks and they yelled at us to take them off. Somebody claimed that sunlight is the best disinfectant.’

The problem did not stop there. Earlier, the journalist said she was harassed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. One of the harassers told her to “get out of his country:”

‘Within the past hour, there was a person who was not happy with what we were covering. We’ve been talking to people — who have all been really nice, by the way — talking to us about how they’re social distancing, what they’re seeing with the crowds on the beach, but this person didn’t like it.’

The man said that Chen was responsible for the pandemic, “referring to my ethnicity:”

‘In addition to shouting at us while I had a mask on, he said to me to get out of his country with an expletive and that I was responsible for this, referring to my ethnicity. So, that wasn’t nice.’

Take a look at the video below showing the attack on the CNN reporter in South Carolina.
