If actions save lives, “why not do it?” asked CNN host of State of the Union Jake Tapper of the Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves (R) about wearing masks. Yet, not every Republican feels the way Reeves does. The Lincoln Project just released another advertisement hitting Donald Trump hard on the mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Inquisitor wrote that the nation currently “Leads the world in COVID deaths:”

‘America now leads the world in COVID deaths,” the brief video clip begins. More than 140,000 Americans are dead. Friends and colleagues. Sisters, brothers, mothers, and fathers — 140,000 bodies.’

The Lincoln Projects’ message was:

‘Side-by-side, they would span over 66 miles. They would fill more than 1,160 football fields. Trump is building his wall, just not the one he promised,” the ad says as the camera zooms in. However, the wall is not the steel structure Trump has been building on the U.S.-Mexico border, but a wall of coffins.’

The Washington Post journalist Brian Klaas wrote about the pandemic’s effect on America, calling it a “world-class catastrophe.” He said that Britain, Germany, and South Korea among others have seen a flattened curve and fewer coronavirus confirmed cases and ensuing deaths.

In just Florida, the state’s numbers overtake and pass the UK’s (United Kingdom) numbers by 23 times.

The new ad said those dead would be the equivalent of “1,160 FOOTBALL FIELDS” in a desert-view of Trump’s wall. The view does not change until the end. It begins with the stark shot of the president’s wall in a treeless wasteland. At the end, the ad showed a flag or flowers to depict and honor each American death in this national disaster:

Then, the Project’s ad said:

‘Trump’s Wall ‘Paid for with 140,000 American Lives.’

‘July 18th, 2020 – The Lincoln Project today released a new ad, “Wall”, calling out the Trump administration’s inaction on the global COVID-19 pandemic by comparing the number of American lives lost, illustrated by a wall of coffins, to Trump’s infamous U.S.-Mexico border wall.’

Co-founder of the Lincoln Project John Weaver said:

‘140,000 American lives have been lost because of Donald Trump. And millions of families will never be the same again. It’s imperative we vote him out this November.’

The Lincoln Project included:

‘With 140,000 lives lost and counting, Americans continue to witness the Trump administration’s ineptitude in overdrive. Our shared suffering must end on November 3rd.’

The full ad is just below saying:

‘Trump is building his wall — just not the one he promised.’
