As the first black and Asian candidate to run for Vice President, as well as being the first woman to run for the position on a national party ticket, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) is facing some high expectations for her speech at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday, Harris tweeted a video of Michelle Obama’s powerful speech from Monday night that included a call to action, urging voters to get out and election Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to make a positive change for a country that has suffered great losses under the current administration. Obama responded to the tweet, saying:
‘And I know you’ll do the same tomorrow night, @KamalaHarris. You’ve got this. So many people will be doing everything we can to get you and @JoeBiden elected this fall. We can’t waste a moment. We’ve got to vote early—and show up in numbers that can’t be ignored.’
If Harris’s speech is anything like Obama’s, she’ll be a shoo-in for the 2020 election.
Tuesday night’s keynote speaker is Dr. Jill Biden, the potential next First Lady of the United States, and Harris’s will be followed by Michelle Obama’s husband, President Barack Obama, on Wednesday night. Joe Biden will close the convention on Thursday night as the keynote speaker to accept his nomination by the Democratic Party as its 2020 candidate for president.
