After four terrible years of narcissistic reality with 238,223 Americans lying in their cold dark graves and almost 10 million stricken in the coronavirus pandemic, the tyrant has finally been felled. President-Elect Joe Biden and vice President-Elect Kamala Harris came to victory with democracy riding on their backs and the price of failure. It took four grueling days, even as Donald Trump and his domestic and foreign cheaters-in-arms tried every tactic, for the Democrats to win. A true good over bad win for all Americans.
After one century of winning the right to vote, women and men are dancing in the street in celebration. Secretary Hillary Clinton has cause to celebrate, too. After all, he stole the 2016 presidency from her:
Her cause for celebration was especially sweet given that Trump stole her presidency:
”The voters have spoken, and they have chosen @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris to be our next president and vice president.
‘It’s a history-making ticket, a repudiation of Trump, and a new page for America. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Onward, together.’
Biden released a statement right after the major news networks called the race for him and Harris:
‘I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris. In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted. Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America. With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation.’
It was poetic justice that Donald Trump was on the golf course when he heard the news. He did the expected. He refused to concede the race:
‘The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor.’
Biden released a statement reminding America what a presidency looks like. He said he was “honored and humbled:”
‘[Americans must] put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation.’
CBS reported that both the Democratic and Republican voter responses shattered all records with Biden-Harris coming out on top.
There were 74,446,452 votes (50.5% of the total) for Biden and Harris, and the final 2020 election saw a history-shattering number of voters, CBS reported.
