Arizona Cyber Ninja ‘Auditors’ Put Under Investigation By Congress

The time that some may have been waiting for has apparently arrived — top Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have issued a request for documents from Cyber Ninjas, the company that Republicans from the Arizona state Senate tasked with leading a sham audit of the presidential election results in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix. Biden won Arizona last November, and despite no meaningful evidence of systematic fraud underlying his victory, Republicans from the state legislature subpoenaed and obtained materials from last year’s election from local authorities. Cyber Ninjas had no prior experience in election auditing before taking on the present task.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), who chairs the House Oversight Committee, and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who leads that committee’s subcommittee on civil rights and civil liberties, have requested a substantial list of documents, including copies of any communications between the company and former President Trump, disgraced attorney Sidney Powell, and others. Maloney and Raskin have set a deadline of July 28 for the documents.

Addressing Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan, the Democrats wrote as follows:

‘We are concerned about your company’s role in this highly unusual effort, given Cyber Ninjas’ apparent lack of experience in conducting election-related audits; reports that the company engaged in sloppy and insecure audit practices that compromised the integrity of ballots and voting equipment and were questioned by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ); and evidence that you and other individuals funding the audit have sought to advance the ‘big lie’ of debunked voter fraud allegations in the November 2020 presidential election.’

Maloney and Raskin also observed to Logan that his “company’s actions also may have introduced significant errors into the audit process.” The problem here is that the inept operation that unfolded could produce what seems like a pre-sought outcome — a report claiming that systematic fraud was present in the 2020 presidential election, despite the conclusions of every other credible governmental authority that has examined the issue to the contrary. Sure, certain Trump supporters have come up with nonsensical, supposed evidence for their claims — but they’ve consistently been clearly out of their depth, pushing nonsense that to some may seem convincingly specific but in reality is utter delusion. That’s exactly the kind of thing that appears to have been unfolding in Arizona.
