These old White Republican men who run their side of the country have no idea where a woman’s G-spot is let alone the dynamics of an abortion. They just want to control us. The rule should be that once they can carry a child, then we will listen to them. President Joe Biden promised to put all of the resources of the American government to work seeking a way to protect Texas women who need an abortion. This is how President Biden is protecting us.
The new law has upset both women and men across the nation, because if Texas could do this, how many states will follow? Republican-led states have been eyeing copycat opportunities. This is who the law affects, AXIOS reported:
- ‘Anyone who supports a women’s right to an abortion nationwide.
- Companies like Uber and Lyft have offered to pay legal fees for any driver who is sued.
- Dating apps Match and Bumble, both headquartered in Texas, pledged to support women seeking abortions.’
The president’s Department of Justice (DOJ) is in the process of filing a lawsuit against the state of Texas “challenging its restrictive law against abortions,” ABC News confirmed. Attorney General Merrick Garland just released this statement:
‘While the Justice Department urgently explores all options to challenge Texas SB8 in order to protect the constitutional rights of women and other persons, including access to an abortion, we will continue to protect those seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health services pursuant to our criminal and civil enforcement of the FACE Act, 18 U.S.C. § 248.’
The AG said he was “urgently” exploring all options to challenge the Texas law in court:
‘The FACE Act prohibits the use or threat of force and physical obstruction that injures, intimidates, or interferes with a person seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health services. It also prohibits intentional property damage of a facility providing reproductive health services. The department has consistently obtained criminal and civil remedies for violations of the FACE Act since it was signed into law in 1994, and it will continue to do so now.’
Texas abortion law was shown on LegisScan. This was the law that Supreme Court let the law stand and what it does, according to AXIOS:
- ‘The law specifically bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks, before many people know they are pregnant.
- It also makes no exceptions for pregnancies that are a result of rape or incest if a heartbeat is detected and offers at least $10,000 to citizens who successfully sue any person assisting pregnant people with getting abortions that violate the ban.’
The Supreme Court said it was unable to resolve the law, thus the shadow docket that slipped the unsigned law through in the middle of the night:
‘[It] raised serious questions regarding the constitutionality of the Texas law at issue, their application also presents complex and novel antecedent procedural questions.’
At this point, we do not know what grounds the federal government will use to block Texas’ draconian abortion bill:
‘[The AG will] pursue an argument that the Texas law illegally interferes with federal interests.’
