This Mother’s Day, the message from every elected leader should be on policies that make women’s lives easier: universal healthcare, the right to bodily autonomy, affordable housing, and affordable childcare. It’s also a day to just celebrate the mothers in all our lives, and President Barack Obama did just that on Twitter.

Accompanied by a picture of the Obamas with daughters Sasha and Malia, the former president tweeted:

The Obamas spent eight years in the White House and have focused on philanthropy and bringing messages of hope and self-worth to young people across the country. As parents, they have always made it known that they love and support their daughters unconditionally.
