Vice-Chair of the House January 6 Select Committee Liz Cheney (R-WY) is calling out Donald Trump for ginning up his 25-30 million followers and provoking “violence.” In her morning tweet, she urged the Republican legislators to “step up to stop this (danger).”
The vice-chair has made a national name for herself with her straight, no-nonsense talk and clever legal strategies. Cheney knows that the ex-president’s violent talk is frightening to many voters. And this is what she said on Twitter:
‘Trump is attacking law enforcement and yet again using language he knows will provoke violence. Only one group of Americans has a chance to diminish this danger— Republicans. If my fellow Republicans fail to step up to stop this, they will share the blame for all that follows.’
Even though working to save our democracy cost the Wyoming representative her House seat, Cheney has been determined to make certain Trump will not ever be president again.
Earlier she tweeted:
‘We must be very clear eyed about the threat we face and about what is required to defeat it. I have said since January 6th that I will do whatever it takes to prevent Donald Trump from ever again getting anywhere near the Oval Office – and I mean it.’
The September hearings should be coming up soon.
