Trump Now Strangely Predicts Jack Smith Will Go Into A Mental Institution

Donald Trump is continuing his tradition of trying essentially whatever tactic he imagines for responding to the dozens of criminal charges and several individual criminal cases he continues to face…

In a particularly strange rant on Truth Social this Monday, he predicted that prosecutors and other individuals opposing him in various court cases would soon find their way to a mental institution because of what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” which the former president and supporters of his have used to malign those most consistently expressing concern about Trump’s campaigns.

“Deranged Jack Smith, Andrew Weissmann, Lisa Monaco, the “team of losers and misfits” from CREW, and all the rest of the Radical Left Zealots and Thugs who have been working illegally for years to “take me down,” will end up, because of their suffering from a horrible disease, TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME (TDS!), in a Mental Institution by the time my next term as President is successfully completed. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump said early Monday.

It’s a fool’s errand to wonder whether anything would ever lead most Republicans to distance themselves from the ex-president-turned-continued GOP presidential contender, but imagine the GOP outrage if it was the Democrat predicting imminent detention in a psychiatric institution for opponents. How long did we hear Republicans whine about Hillary Clinton’s “deplorables” comment?

And yet, Republicans essentially get away in some respects with commentary like this, pronouncing medical conditions on the part of their opponents. The examples are wide-ranging. Trump consistently maligns major American cities as decrepit, focusing repeatedly on locales with a large Black population. He maligns veterans, both in public and in reported private remarks. And it just keeps going.

This week, the trial in New York on the fraud case from state Attorney General Letitia James against the Trumps was continuing with the presentation by the defense. And filings in the federal case from Jack Smith accusing Trump of criminal conspiracies targeting the 2020 election kept on coming.
