Suburban Women Reject GOP’s Impeachment Push As ‘Bogus,’ Per Poll

New polling from, of all sources, Fox News shows a large share of suburban women expressing distrust in the unfolding impeachment push from House Republicans that targets President Joe Biden. The party’s members in the chamber recently formalized their already progressing impeachment inquiry into the president, which is led by Republicans on the House Judiciary and Oversight committees.

In total, 54 percent of suburban women characterized the push towards possible impeachment as a “bogus” and in reality partisan exercise, while only 42 percent — or 12 percentage points fewer — called the endeavor legitimate “action on a serious matter.” In other words, the possible impeachment targeting Biden doesn’t look positioned to boost Republican electoral prospects in this demographic group, who Republicans have infamously targeted already.

The point of the impeachment investigation currently underway is looking for evidence that could connect the president to allegedly corrupt business dealings that involved family members of his, particularly his son Hunter Biden. Despite moving forward with a formally authorizing vote for the probe on the House floor, there is still no supporting evidence actually establishing such a connection. Republicans subpoenaed the younger Biden for testimony but refused his proposal of him answering questions publicly. The private session that Republicans wanted instead could let bad actors essentially set the narrative around whatever Hunter said — without necessary regard to the facts.

In prepared remarks recently shared, the president criticized Republicans in the House for what he characterized as not actually “doing anything” to advance the real-world standing of everyday Americans. “Instead of doing anything to help make Americans’ lives better, they are focused on attacking me with lies,” he said. “Instead of doing their job on the urgent work that needs to be done, they are choosing to waste time on this baseless political stunt that even Republicans in Congress admit is not supported by facts.”
