Deluded Trump Thinks New Yorkers Are Fleeing En Masse Just Because He Lost In Court

Donald Trump is trying a lot in response to the recent ruling in a New York fraud case imposing hundreds of millions of dollars in penalties — an amount that was set to grow via interest.

Now, he’s comparing residents of New York to birds. “Wow! Many people are leaving, or planning to leave, New York State, because of how the corrupt New York Judge, under the control of the even more corrupt Attorney General, have fabricated and “faked” New York State “LAW” to suit their own, and Biden’s hit on his Political Opponents, purpose,” Trump ranted online late Tuesday, close to midnight. “Legal Scholars are having a field day discussing how disgusting the whole Rigged New York State Legal System has become. People and companies are fleeing, just like hunted and wounded birds from on high. JUSTICE IN NEW YORK!!!”

There is no clear indication that this narrative of a significant rate of departure from New York is anything real. Does Trump think that a large portion of Americans just base their decisions on where they live, work, and raise their families on whatever on earth is happening most recently to him in the courts?

The extremity of the concept mirrors Trump’s recent usage of the death in Russian detention of opposition leader Alexei Navalny to complain about his supposed treatment in the U.S., as though the situations are comparable. Trump’s ongoing opportunity to air his grievances in the justice system to the point his 2020 election-related criminal case was put on hold amid his appeals doesn’t remotely evoke deadly authoritarianism.

And “hunted and wounded birds from on high”? What on earth is he talking about? And how did Biden end up the one facing such consistent clamoring about imagined problems around his age, though Trump is the one saying stuff like this and claiming he won a presidential election that every credible authority describes otherwise?
