The data seems pretty consistent on this point: incumbent President Joe Biden, expected as the Democratic nominee in this year’s presidential election, is leading by large margins among younger voters.

That’s despite recent pro-Palestine protests often also targeting the Democrats currently in power, accusing Biden and political allies of complicity in serious impacts being experienced by the Palestinian people, although the U.S. has worked to provide aid to the Palestinians.

New polling from frequent partners YouGov and The Economist finds a lead for Biden among registered voters from the ages of 18 through 29 that reaches 22 percent! Among those respondents, Biden was at 49 percent, while Trump had just 27 percent.

The portion behind Trump was the smallest of any age group that was included in the survey. In the groups identified here, Trump begins outright leading once respondents reach 45 years of age.

Overall, Trump and Biden are tied among registered voters who were included, with both nabbing 43 percent. The results were at the national level, which can still provide a decent barometer of the eventual outcome of a presidential race no matter that it’s actually decided on a state-by-state basis via the electoral college.

Notably, these results are all drawn from a question that also included some candidates from outside the major parties. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. — a nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, who is running as an independent — got only three percent of the support, which recent precedent from actual election results suggests is more in line with what he’s actually going to get in 2024.

As in other results, Biden also led in this polling among women — though when all women from the pool of registered voters were combined, this lead landed at five percent. Outrage continues nationally at the GOP’s harshly restrictive stance on abortion, which prominent members of the party keep pursuing after Roe v. Wade’s undoing in 2022.
