Donald Trump had a party and no one came. Well, actually it was a luncheon and none of the Democrats came. Old POTUS was trying to pull a fast one. He only invited the new Democrats, and he was trying to peel them off to come over to his side to get his monumental wall. This is what happened.
White House correspondent for The Washington Post Josh Dawsey spread the news all over Twitter world, where the president likes to live. The journalist reported:
‘No house democrats accepted Trump’s lunch invite, per Sarah Sanders.’
One of those new Democratic representatives was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and she drilled right down into what Trump’s real motivation was. She said that he was “more interested in photo-ops” than people’s paychecks:

Trump has no empathy. That has long been apparent. People wonder how he can let the 800,000 government employees go without their paychecks indefinitely. The answer is that he just does not care.
There has been a rapid ripple effect in the communities that serve those government workers. The blow to the U.S. economy will be staggering. Yet, Trump does not care. All he wants is his wall.
Some close to the president have been urging the commander-in-chief to make the furlough last until people leave their government jobs. These White House advisers claim that over 75 percent of the government employees are lazy, undermining the president, and part of some resistance.
