Donald Trump stood before a crowd of his loyal followers, weaponizing them, inciting them. To violence. At the same time, we learned that two, possibly three different groups of white nationalists were carrying out their attack plan. Terrorists. They violated our monument to Democracy. Our domed Capitol Building. There were 140 members of the Capitol Police injured. Five people died.
It becomes easy to be distracted with the Russian hacks, the Taliban firefight as Americans leave Afghanistan, and 30 percent of Americans refuse life-saving vaccines. All big problems. The Republican minority has been wielding a cold stick, beating the Democrats who are not used to fighting. To back-alley violence.
The Lincoln Group sends us an important message. Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) lurking image flashes. Then, that of Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), his fist raised in solidarity with the terrorists. A tentative House Minority Leader, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) shows. Alleged child molester/trafficker, Senator Matt Gaetz (R-FL) appears. Conspiracy theorist Ron Johnson (R-WI) is there.
