During a broadcast recently on MSNBC, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) indicated he believed claims from Cassidy Hutchinson that Rudy Giuliani had groped her on January 6, 2021.

In Hutchinson’s account of what transpired, infamous Trump ally John Eastman was also present. Hutchinson, at the time, served in the Trump White House and later provided high-profile testimony to the House committee that investigated January 6 and circumstances that preceded it. Raskin himself was a part of that committee.

Besides sharing his confidence in Hutchinson, Raskin also connected the fundamentally aggressive, violent inclinations that would produce sexual misconduct to the domineering politics espoused by these people. “She was about the most believable, credible witness I’ve ever seen in my life. And Rudy Giuliani is obviously full of it and completely undependable and unfaithful as a witness,” Raskin said. “Look, if America had believed the women who came forward about Donald Trump’s sexual harassment, and if we had followed what we heard with our own ears in the “Access Hollywood” tape, we never would have gotten into this situation. Usually, sexual assault and tolerance for misogyny and sexual harassment go hand-in-hand with authoritarianism.”

Hutchinson revealed what she says transpired that day in a new book. She’s previously spoken about, among other topics, the account she heard secondhand of Trump allegedly getting physically aggressive as he sought to head to the Capitol on January 6 and the impression that Trump was plainly aware of the presence of weapons among his supporters who had gathered in Washington, D.C., that day after his straightforward encouragement for them to do so. She’s also said she was encouraged by a lawyer with ties to Trump to be, quite simply, less than forthcoming in some of her interactions with the January 6 committee in the House, to whom she spoke both privately and publicly.

Rudy Giuliani is also facing a lawsuit from an ex-employee of his who alleges both unpaid wages and sexual misconduct.
